Applicant serves June 30th motion materials for expedited pre-election hearing

On June 24, 2015, the Applicant served a motion record and book of authorities in support of a motion for an abridgment of time and an expedited hearing of the application for judicial review in respect of the Prime Minister’s refusal to appoint Senators to fill existing vacancies.

The Applicant’s motion is scheduled to be heard at the Federal Court in Vancouver at 701 West Georgia Street (Pacific Centre) on Tuesday, June 30th at 9:30am. Court proceedings are open to the public. For more information, please see the Federal Court Policy on Public and Media Access.

The Applicant’s motion asks the Federal Court to set a hearing date for the application and to abridge time limits for the remaining steps in the proceeding to accommodate a hearing date before the federal election scheduled for October 19, 2015.
