On December 27, 2014, the Applicant served notice of the application on all 13 provincial and territorial attorneys general. As of January 15, 2015, all attorneys general have confirmed receiving notice of the application. At time of writing (updated January 18), the attorneys general of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon Territory have indicated that they will not be participating.

On December 8, 2014, a Notice of Application for Judicial Review was filed in Federal Court File No. T-2506-14. The application was served on the Department of Justice’s BC Regional Office under the Court’s rules.
